About Manav Sadhna
"In a quiet corner of the Sabarmati (Gandhi) Ashram in India, nestled among the shade of neem trees, children do their schoolwork, play games, and help to prepare the nightly meal. Just across the sandy ground, a large, rustic building is buzzing with life. Greeting cards are being meticulously prepared by hand, first aid kits are being put together, honorary guests are speaking, songs are being sung, and prayers are taking place. And so continues the daily rituals for the children of Manav Sadhna, 106 of India's poorest engaged in educational, creative, and spiritual development ... "

Bedspreads are hand made by the women who have been able to generate employment and gain skills rather than having to work as rag-pickers.
Each bedspread takes one month to make and some take as long as three months. Due to the extensive time required to make them, only individual pieces are avaiable. Most are made with either Khadi (hand-spun cotton) or Khadi silk.
