Community Shops -- How Can You Help

As you may or may not know, when we start projects, our focus is fully on service, which implies that outcomes don't matter; we enjoy the ride, giving our sincere best efforts in each present moment. We're a nonprofit and a volunteer run effort, but we are PUMPED-UP and serious about doing what we're doing.

Be a cShops Volunteer!

Q: How can I become a volunteer?
A: If you feel inspired to assist one of the nonprofits or give service at CharityFocus, please contact us at cshops@charityfocus.org.

Q: If I volunteer, what can I do?
A: Volunteers for cShops can work as a volunteer with a partner nonprofit organization or within cShops itself.

Volunteers working with our partner nonprofits, can assist in order fulfillment, accounting and coordination between the US and the nonprofit abroad.

Within cShops individuals are welcome to volunteer with the following groups:

  • Logistics and Distribution: Deals with information related to the infrastructure of warehousing, managing product inventory, shipping and processing returns. By using its knowledge base, this group will facilitate the initial logistical process for partner NPOs working with cShops by referring them to experts and information. By means of thorough documentation and distribution of information this group will also provide volunteer services and information upon request. Coordinates with Technology and Operations regarding inventory stock and sales.
  • Operations: Maintains the knowledge base regarding NPO status for incorporation, shipping, sales within the US, taxes and accounting.
  • Technology: Builds and maintains our e-commerce website. Coordinates with Logistics, Distribution and Operations; and Communications. New versions of the cShops site will include additional NPO partner stores.
  • Reachout: Builds and maintains relationships with customers and aligned organizations (socially responsible, compassion driven…) through e-marketing, publicity, events and other activities. Coordinates with Technology and Communications.
  • Service: The venture capital of cShops. Services group interacts with: cShops groups (Logistics and Distribution, Technology, Reachout, Operations, Communications) through facilitating smooth internal operations, integrating volunteers into groups and maintaining high morale. NPO partners by connecting them with technical expertise, as well as to our knowledge base.
  • Communication: Has the following responsibilities: Works with copywriting and creating content for cShops materials; Relates values and responsibilities to new NPO partners; Develops publicity materials.

The Communication group also identifies blockages in communication and promotes understanding about how they can be resolved. Communication coordinates with Technology and Reachout.
